HONG KONG -- Hong Kong's visitor arrivals dropped to about 3.59 million in August, down 39.1 percent compared with the same month a year ago, Hong Kong Tourism Board said on Monday.

The statistics showed that visitor arrivals from the Chinese mainland decreased by 42.3 percent year on year to about 2.78 million.(Hong Kong-Visitors)

HONG KONG -- A total of 157 people have been arrested over the weekend for illegal and violent acts, the Hong Kong police said on Monday, warning that violence may escalate in the near future and the rioters' acts are "one step closer to terrorism."
