BEIJING, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- A total of 33 digital designs featuring traditional Chinese cultural symbols have been awarded at a ceremony held at the Palace Museum in Beijing.

The designs, including 17 graphic designs, were selected from over 1,200 works submitted by applicants of an open contest that lasted for around five months.

The works were inspired by symbols collected from the public during the first phase of the contest.

The competing works centered on discovering the essence of traditional Chinese culture, with the Palace Museum as its representative, according to organizers.

The contest is aimed at helping young people fully take part in the protection and inheritance of traditional culture, said Wang Xudong, curator of the museum. Enditem
