SHANGHAI, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed lower Tuesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
The most active gold contract for December delivery was down 0.75 yuan (about 11 U.S. cents) to close at 344.5 yuan a gram.
The total trading volume for seven listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 154,988 lots, with a turnover of about 53.48 billion yuan.
