SHANGHAI, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed higher Wednesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
The most active gold contract for December delivery was up 4.9 yuan (about 69 U.S. cents) to close at 349.5 yuan a gram.
The total trading volume for seven listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 440,258 lots, with a turnover of about 153.71 billion yuan.
