China steel futures open higher

SHANGHAI, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Steel futures opened higher Thursday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

  The most active construction steel rebar contract for January delivery was up 5 yuan (about 71 U.S. cents) to open at 3,416 yuan a tonne.

  The most active January 2020 contract for hot rolled coils, mainly used in cars and appliances, was up 9 yuan (about 1.27 U.S. dollars) to open at 3,420 yuan a tonne. Enditem
