Animated romantic fantasy "Weathering With You" to hit Chinese theaters

BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- "Weathering With You," a Japanese animated romantic fantasy film by Makoto Shinkai, is set to hit Chinese theaters on Nov. 1, according to the China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association.

A Chinese-subtitled trailer has been released for the film.

Set in Japan during a period of exceptionally rainy weather, the film tells of a high school teenager who runs away to Tokyo and befriends an orphan girl who appears to be able to manipulate the weather.

Born in 1973, Makoto Shinkai is best known for directing "Your Name," a high-grossing animated film released in 2016. Enditem
