NEW DELHI -- India's second Lunar mission "Chandrayaan-2" on Thursday sent its first illuminated image of the Moon's surface, said the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The illuminated image was acquired by the "Imaging Infrared Spectrometer (IIRS)" onboard the "Chandrayaan-2" which is designed to measure the reflected sunlight and emitted part of Moon light from the Lunar surface in narrow and contiguous spectral channels ranging from 800-5,000 nanometer. PUL-E-ALAM, Afghanistan -- The security forces have killed 12 militants in a tunnel used by the insurgents as a hideout to target security forces in the eastern Logar province, said an army statement released here Thursday.
