BEIJING, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese central authorities are mulling the introduction of third-party evaluation to oversee law enforcement agencies' work on raising public awareness of the law.

From this year, such evaluations should produce annual reports on each central agency's efforts in the initiative, with the reports to be published within a certain scope, said a statement released Friday after an inter-agency mechanism meeting on the work of raising public awareness of the law.

Members of the mechanism include the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

The evaluation index system and evaluation methods are currently being developed, according to the statement. Enditem
