BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," one of Shakespeare's most popular comedies, is set to return to the stage of the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) from Nov. 21 to 28.

Set in Athens, the romantic comedy portrays the adventures of four Athenian lovers in a forest and their interactions with the fairies who inhabit it.

Shakespeare created a ceaseless succession of chaos and changes between the solemnity of Athens and the freedom of the forest, which all takes place in the moonlit night and ends at daybreak.

The NCPA production premiered in 2016 to pay tribute to the literary giant as the world commemorated the 400th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare. Enditem
