BEIRUT -- Lebanese banks resumed business on Friday after two-week closure amid nationwide protests, the National News Agency reported.

The Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) issued a statement calling upon banks to extend their working hours on Friday and Saturday to cater to a great number of Lebanese who need cash following two-week restricted bank services through ATM machines only. (Lebanon-Banks Reopening)

GAZA -- At least 96 Palestinian demonstrators were injured on Friday during clashes in eastern Gaza Strip with Israeli soldiers stationed on the border, according to a local official.

Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza said in an emailed press statement that 96 Palestinian demonstrators were injured in eastern Gaza, including 57 who were shot and injured by Israeli soldiers' gunfire. (Israel-Gaza)

RABAT -- Morocco and Italy signed a declaration of multidimensional strategic partnership on Friday in Moroccan capital Rabat.

ANKARA -- Turkish and Russian troops on Friday launched their first joint patrol in northeastern Syria as reconnaissance of the withdrawal of Syrian Kurdish fighters from the region as part of a deal that halted a Turkish offensive in the area.

"First Turkish-Russian joint patrols with the ground and air units are underway east of Ad Darbasiyah in northeastern Syria as agreed between Turkish and Russian presidents in Sochi on Oct. 22," the Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement. (Turkey-Russia-Syria) Enditem
