CBA Roundup: Beijing beat Guangzhou in 2OT, Guangdong power through Shandong

BEIJING, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Kyle Fogg contributed 43 points and 11 rebounds as Beijing Royal fighters overcame Guangzhou Loong Lions 134-123 in double overtime in the third round of Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday.

Fogg finished 12 of 19 baskets including four 3-pointers, while Wang Zirui and Wang Shaojie scored 19 and 14 points respectively for the visiting team in the tussle match.

Both sides opened fire beyond the arc in regular time. The Royal fighters led 106-103 with 21 seconds on the clock, before Zheng Zhun made a crucial three-pointer to send the game into overtime.

The capital team then dominated the second overtime to outscore the home side 18-7, and registered their second win of the season in 134-123.

Also on Wednesday, defending champions Guangdong bagged its third straight win thanks to a game-high 35 points from Marshon Brooks, who led Guangdong to a 19-0 run early in the game, gifting the home side a 31-17 advantage in the first quarter.

Shandong then geared up to fight back and cut the deficit to 89-84 into the last quarter, before Guangdong's coach Du Feng was fouled out. However, the CBA powerhouses stayed calm to finish the game in 126-110.

Elsewhere, Han Dejun scored 21 points and grabbed 19 rebounds as the Liaoning Leopards beat Shenzhen Aviators 123-107, while 26 points from Jeremy Lin helped Beijing Ducks defeated Shanghai Sharks 94-88, remaining unbeaten in the league.

Jiangsu Dragons won over Tianjin Pioneers 98-82, while Jilin Northeast Tigers thrashed Bayi Rockets 105-84. Enditem
