"Better Days" grosses 1.4 bln yuan on Chinese mainland in 18 days

BEIJING, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- "Better Days" has generated a total box office revenue of around 1.4 billion yuan (about 200 million U.S. dollars) on the Chinese mainland in the 18 days since its premiere, showed figures from the China Movie Data Information Network.

Directed by Derek Tsang, who is best known for directing the 2016 film "SoulMate," "Better Days" revolves around a brutally bullied high school girl who becomes entangled with a young crook and embroiled in a murder.

Starring Zhou Dongyu and Jackson Yee, the film currently has a score of 8.4 out of 10 on film review platform Douban based on more than 509,000 reviews.

"Better Days" debuted on the Chinese mainland on Oct. 25 where it secured an opening week box office revenue of 583 million yuan. Enditem
