BAGHDAD -- Iraq said on Tuesday that it rejects any external interference in its affairs, asserting that the reforms the country's political process is a pure Iraqi decision as anti-government demonstrations continued in the country over corruption and deteriorated living conditions.

A statement by the media office of the Iraqi presidency said that the reforms, which came in response to the will of Iraqis, "cannot be subject to external dictates, any external interference is rejected and unacceptable." (Iraq-Demonstrations)

GAZA -- At least three Palestinians, including a senior Islamic Jihad militant and his wife, were killed and 18 others injured on Tuesday in a series of intensive Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, medics said.

One Palestinian was killed by an Israeli missile that had directly hit him while he was driving a motorbike in northern Gaza Strip, the Health Ministry in Gaza said in a press statement. (Gaza-Israel)

CAIRO -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang has encouraged the Chinese companies in Egypt to play a bigger role in deepening the Sino-Egyptian friendship and cooperation.

Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks during his meeting on Monday with the representatives from 25 Chinese companies in Egypt, held on the sidelines of his official visit to Egypt. (Egypt-China-Wang Yang Visit)

BEIRUT -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Tuesday called on the protesters to leave the streets, while assuring that he supports all of their demands and implementation of reforms.

"If the Lebanese stay in the streets, they will ruin the country and we will reach a disastrous situation. We still have the opportunity to get out of our current situation if people go back to their work and we restore normal life in the country," Aoun said in a televised interview.
