TUNIS -- President Kais Saied officially approved Habib Jemli on Friday to form the new government, according to a statement by the Tunisian presidency.

TEHRAN -- The Iranian government on Friday started rationing of subsidized gasoline and increased its prices.

Mohammad Baqer Nobakht, head of the Planning and Budget Organization of Iran, said that proceeds from the price hikes would be used to fund additional subsidies for 18 million underprivileged families, which amounts to about 60 million people, Tehran Times daily reported. (Iran-Gasoline)

RAMALLAH/GAZA -- The Palestinian Authority (PA) condemned on Friday Israel's adherence to the "assassination policies" against the Palestinians, according to an official statement.

"It is a disregard of the life and the blood of the Palestinian citizen, and reflects the plan of the law of the jungle which is promoted by Israel, America and some European countries," the PA ministry of foreign affairs said in a press statement. (Gaza-Israel)

DAMASCUS -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said the U.S. military presence in Syria would generate a resistance until its withdrawal from the country, state news agency SANA reported Friday.

"There is no occupying force that can exist in a certain place without having agents on the ground," al-Assad said in an interview with Russia's media outlets RUSSIA 24 and Rossiya Segodnya. (Syria-U.S. Presence-Resistance) Enditem
