SHENZHEN, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- The following are shows and exhibitions available in Shenzhen in the coming week:

Song2 by Wu Shuang & Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe

Date: Nov. 30 - Dec. 1

Venue: the Sea World Culture and Arts Center

Introduction:

Ci, a genre of Chinese poetry that was first emerged in the late Tang Dynast and blossomed in the Song Dynasty, were performed as lyrics in popular songs. For many centuries, Kunqu had been a favoured performing art form among the literati of China. In the performance of "Song2," nationwide renowned Kunqu performer Wu Shuang fuses Ci and Kunqu, to form a perfect combination between the lyrics and the music, and to give the audience different angles to appreciate the art of Chinese literature and Kunqu.

Duo Concert by Mengla Huang and Xuefei Yang

Date: Dec. 1

Venue: Shenzhen Concert Hall

Introduction:

Huang Mengla, as one of the most active violinists on the world stage, won the 49th Paganini International Violin Competition at the age of 22, thus getting named as "Oriental Paganini." Yang Xuefei is acclaimed as one of the world's finest classical guitarists and hailed as a musical pioneer. This time, works by Niccolo Paganini, Enrique Granados and Astor Piazzolla will be played by the two musicians.

Venue: Shenzhen Nanshan Museum

Introduction:

Shaanxi is a cradle of Chinese civilization, and 14 dynasties, including the Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang, had established capitals here. Ancient China's prosperity reached its zenith in the Tang Dynasty, and Chang'an was not only the political, economic and cultural center of the nation, but also the starting point of the Silk Road. Now 120 relics from Shaanxi Province are on display at the exhibition in Shenzhen, showcasing the important hub of the most prosperous period of China's imperial history. Enditem
