BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

ROCKET-CARRYING SHIPS

China's rocket-carrying ships Yuanwang-21 and Yuanwang-22 wrapped up their mission of transporting the Long March-5 Y3 rocket and arrived at a port in eastern China's Jiangsu Province Monday.

The two rocket-carrying ships departed from northern China's Tianjin Port on Oct. 22 and arrived at Qinglan Port in Wenchang in southern China's Hainan Province after a five-day journey.

PLANT TERRESTRIALIZATION

An international group of researchers has found that plant ancestors acquired genes from soil bacteria to adapt to harsh conditions on land and eventually evolve into land plants.

Researchers from China, Germany, Canada, France and Russia identified a total of 902 genes that are shared by the two algae species living on land and plants, but not with algae species living in the water.

NEW HUAWEI TABLET

Huawei has launched an upgraded tablet computer, the MatePad Pro, in Shanghai as it ramps up efforts for a bigger market share. The new tablet will be available on the Chinese mainland next month. Earlier Huawei tablets were introduced under the MediaPad series.

MatePad Pro offers innovative multi-screen collaboration with mobile phones to provide interactive office and intelligent scene solutions.

MINE INDUSTRY WITH 5G

China's coal mining industry is embracing an upgrade with the assistance of 5G-based technology.

After inking a framework agreement with China Mobile and Huawei this September, China's largest hard coal producer Yangquan Coal Industry Group in Shanxi has successfully deployed an underground 5G base station in one of its coal mines as part of the move to promote 5G-based intelligent mining.
