BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Strong regulation and strict law enforcement on personal data protection were highlighted by judges and legal professionals from 25 countries and regions at a global event on Internet judiciary, Friday's China Daily reported.

Organized by the Supreme People's Court (SPC), the World Forum on Rule of Law in Internet was held in Wuzhen, eastern China's Zhejiang Province on Thursday.

Zhou Qiang, president of the SPC, was quoted as saying that China has paid high attention to cyberspace security and is willing to share its experiences with other countries.

Kou Fang, president of the Beijing High People's Court, called for more attention on fighting against personal information infringements and crimes. "We need to catch up with the fast pace of technologies amid new legal problems, and improve the legal protection of personal data," he said.

Internet operators in China are required by law to obtain users' permissions for collecting their personal information. Enditem
