BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The following are highlights of China's local business news from the past week.

HUAWEI

Chinese tech giant Huawei mounted a legal challenge to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), seeking the court to overturn an "unlawful" order that bans rural carriers in the United States from using federal subsidies to purchase Huawei equipment.

In a petition filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Huawei asks the court to hold the FCC's order unlawful on the grounds that it fails to offer Huawei required due process protections in labeling Huawei as a national security threat.

XINJIANG TRADE

China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region recorded around 131.5 billion yuan (18.7 billion U.S. dollars) in imports and exports in the first 10 months of this year, up 28 percent year on year.

The autonomous region's export volume during the period was 100.2 billion yuan, up 19.9 percent, while its import volume soared to 31.3 billion yuan, up 63.1 percent, according to the customs authorities of Urumqi, the regional capital.

During the test runs, high-speed railway trains run at 385 kph and bullet trains run at 350 kph, meeting the requirement that the highest test train speed be 10 percent higher than the designed speed.

PORK IMPORTS

Pork imports via the northern China port city of Tianjin have increased sharply this year, driven by the supply-demand gap in China's domestic market.

Over 396,000 tonnes of pork imports were made via Tianjin in the first 10 months, up 34.6 percent year on year, according to the city's customs. Among the imports, 82.6 percent were imported from the European Union, Canada and Brazil.

NEW AIR ROUTE TO BANGKOK

A new air route opened to link the city of Yantai, east China's Shandong Province, with Bangkok, capital of Thailand.

The route, scheduled every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, is operated by Shandong Airlines. The route will promote economic and trade cooperation, cultural communication and tourism development between Shandong and Thailand. Enditem
