Liaoning overcome Guangzhou 123-115 in CBA

GUANGZHOU, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Lance Stephenson scored a game-high 32 points as Liaoning Flying Leopards beat Guangzhou Long Lions 123-115 on the road in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Saturday.

Stephenson had 32 points plus eight rebounds, while Guo Ailun added 28 points for Liaoning. Keifer Sykes scored 26 and Liu Fengbo had 20 for Guangzhou.

After the tip-off, guard Guo Ailun and center Han Dejun lifted Liaoning into a 13-3 run. Sykes led Guangzhou to cut the deficit and the two teams tied at 28-28 into the second quarter.

Stephenson shone to score nine consecutive points to regain the advantage for Liaoning, and the visitors led 67-59 into the halftime break.

Liaoning continued to increase their lead in the third quarter, leading 97-81 into the last quarter.

Guo Ailun's solo with three minutes on the clock gifted Liaoning a 118-99 lead and helped them clinch the victory. Enditem
