BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.08 percent to end at 2,914.48 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.02 percent lower at 9,876.27 points.

The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 460.84 billion yuan (65.46 billion U.S. dollars), expanding from 409.8 billion yuan in the previous trading day.

Winners outnumbered losers by 704 to 656 on the Shanghai bourse and by 1,064 to 971 on the Shenzhen bourse.

Shares of companies in the leasing service sector posted strong performance, with shares of Zhejiang Huatie Emergency Equipment Science & Technology Co., Ltd. surging by the daily limit of 10 percent.

Meanwhile, companies in health care industry led the losses.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.33 percent to close at 1,721.07 points Monday. Enditem
