BEIRUT -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun postponed for three days the parliamentary consultations aimed at the appointment of a new prime minister in Lebanon, a statement by the President's office reported on Monday.

Aoun's move came following demands by caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri to postpone consultations until further negotiations are made with regard to the formation of the new government. (Lebanon)

BAGHDAD -- Six Iraqi soldiers were killed and four others injured in an overnight attack by Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq's eastern province of Diyala, a provincial police officer said on Monday.

The attack took place late on Sunday night when IS militants carried out an attack on army bases at a rural area near the town of al-Maqdadiyah, some 100 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, sparking a fierce clash between the two sides, Alaa al-Saadi from Diyala's police told Xinhua. JERUSALEM -- China's leading high-tech electronics and home appliances conglomerate TCL Corporation has reached a deal to integrate the Israeli DSP Group's audio technology into its Alcatel tablets, both companies announced Monday.

Their announcements did not disclose the value of the deal, but the Israeli media estimated it at 20 million U.S. dollars. (Israel-China-Technology)

RAMALLAH -- International delegations arrived on Monday in the Palestinian territories to meet with the Palestinian side and talk about holding the elections, a senior official said.

Reyad al-Malki, the Palestinian Authority (PA) Minister of Foreign Affairs, told "Voice of Palestine" Radio that UN and European delegations will visit both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip during this week to discuss holding the parliamentary and the presidential elections. (Palestinian) Enditem
