The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.65 percent lower at 10,229.49 points.

The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 570.58 billion yuan (about 81.49 billion U.S. dollars), shrinking from 578.3 billion yuan in the previous trading day.
