"The Nutcracker" by Guangzhou Ballet Troupe

Venue: Opera Hall, Guangzhou Opera House

Introduction:

"The Nutcracker" is a classical ballet written by the Russian composer Tchaikovsky in the 19th century. It takes the dream of the little girl Clara as the main line of the story, and opens the door to fairy tales with its supernatural romantic elements and rich fantasies.

Dance Drama: "The Eternal Wave" by Shanghai Dance Theatre

Date: Dec. 27-28

Time: 2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.

Venue: Opera Hall, Guangzhou Opera House

Introduction:

"The Eternal Wave" is based on the true story of revolutionary martyr Li Bai, a long-term liaison officer with the underground organization of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai who was murdered secretly by enemies just 20 days before the liberation of Shanghai in 1949. It is a creative adaptation based on the true history. The drama with a stage built with typical old Shanghai elements recreates a martyr who sacrificed his life for revolutionary cause.

New Year's Concert by Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Venue: Opera Hall, Guangzhou Opera House

Introduction:

The Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra (originally the Grand Symphony Orchestra of All-Union Radio and Central Television) was founded in 1930 as the first symphony orchestra of the Soviet Union. In 1993, the orchestra was named after the great Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky for the genuine and deep interpretation of his works.
