BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of major shows, concerts, exhibitions and events in China for Wednesday:

-- Musical "Les Choristes"

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Erqi Theater, Beijing

Adapted from the Oscar award-winning film of the same name, the French musical was directed by the film's director Christophe Barratier, telling a story about a music teacher who manages to open hearts of his students at a boarding school and changes their lives by organizing a choir.

The Chinese adaptation gathers 24 children actors and actresses nationwide, evoking emotional resonance in the Chinese audience by presenting the classic melodies in their own language.

-- Play "Requiem"

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Guangzhou Friendship Theater, Guangzhou

The play is a Chinese version of the famous play "Requiem" of late Israeli playwright Hanoch Levin, whose "Requiem" was adapted from Russian playwright Anton Chekhov's novels and has been staged worldwide since its debut in 1999.

The Chinese version, starring Chinese actor Ni Dahong and actress Sun Li, is directed by Israeli director Yair Sherman.

-- Thriller "The Nightmare at Christmas"

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Zhejiang Dramatic Arts Theater, Hangzhou

Staged on Christmas eve, the thriller tells the story of a psychology professor who designed a psychological test for his family and invited a mysterious "Santa Claus" to play a character of practical jokes in the game he had invented. However, the professor died after eating a Christmas candy, putting all those present under suspicion of murder.

Directed by Liu Fangqi, a Chinese director, the triller will be performed in Chinese. Enditem
