SHANGHAI, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- The following are art festivals, shows and exhibitions available in Shanghai in the coming week:

Qi Baishi -- Master of the 20th Century

Date: Daily except Monday until Jan. 12, 2020

Venue: Jiushi International Art Center

Introduction:

This is a remarkable solo show by one of China's greatest ink-and-brush artists. Qi Baishi, who died in the 1950s, was a master of traditional Chinese painting. He gave lives to small insects and flowers on paper with great humanity. This show gathers several pieces that have never been publicly exhibited in Chinese mainland before.

Surrealism Revisited: An Art Exhibition of Salvador Dali and Sir Daniel Winn

Date: Daily until Jan. 16, 2020

Venue: Shanghai Art Museum

Introduction:

A joint art exhibition of Salvador Dali and his contemporary successor Sir Daniel Winn is going on in Shanghai. On display are a selection of Dali's fabulous etchings and drawings, and Winn's large oil paintings of melted fruits and marble busts.

Long Yu Conducts Zhou Tian with SSO

Date: On Wednesday Jan. 8, 2020

Venue: Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Hall

Long Yu is currently most celebrated Chinese conductor in China. He is both artistic director and chief conductor of the China Philharmonic and of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra (SSO), and principal guest conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He will be leading the SSO once more as they perform classic from Zhou Tian. Enditem
