BEIJING, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Epson (China) Co., a manufacturer of office equipment and supplies, is recalling 177,470 power adapters from the Chinese market, according to the country's top quality watchdog.
The recall involved 320 Pro100 label printer power adapters made between June 2011 and December 2013, and 177,150 flat-panel scanner power adapters produced between January 2010 and May 2012, the State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement on its website.
Direct-current plugs of the affected power adapters may generate excessive heat, and even burn in extreme cases.
Epson promised to replace the defective power adapters free of charge, according to the statement. Enditem
