SHENZHEN, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The following are shows and exhibitions available in Shenzhen in the coming week:

The Jonathan Lee Musical "Spirit of Life"

Date: Jan. 17-19

Time: 7:30 p.m. (Jan. 17-19), 2 p.m. (Jan. 18-19)

Place: Shenzhen Poly Theatre

Introduction:

"Spirit of Life" is a jukebox musical named by the beloved Taiwan singer-songwriter Jonathan Lee and directed by Broadway Tony Award-winning director John Rando. The show tells of a love story between music producer Han Jiang and a sweet girl named Nuan Nuan. Nearly 30 songs originally by Lee will be performed, including the theme "Bygone Love."

Exhibition: Royal Jewelry Arts From the Renaissance to the 20th Century

Date: until March 1

Time: 10 a.m.-6 p.m., closed Mondays

Place: Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning

Introduction:

More than 160 items are on display, including necklaces, bracelets, pendants, pocket watches, snuff bottles, cigarette packets and other luxury jewelry made in Europe, as well as turquoise bottles and gold bracelets made in Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) in China.

Collection of Guan Shanyue Flower and Bird Paintings Special Exhibition

Date: until July

Time: 10 a.m.-6 p.m., closed Mondays

Place: Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning

Introduction:

The exhibition is themed on flower and bird paintings of art master Guan Shanyue. A total of 35 works are on display, focusing on pine trees, bamboo, plum blossom and some Lingnan elements. The exhibition reveals the new expression of the traditional implication of flower and bird paintings, highlighting the contemporary significance of Guan's works. Enditem
