BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- The China Soong Ching Ling Foundation Monday awarded eight pediatric research projects, including studies on children's biliary deformities and vitamin D deficiency, in Beijing.

The foundation also launched a training project for primary-level pediatric medical staff from the country's less-developed central and western regions, including those from rescue centers for newborns in critical conditions.

Hang Yuanxiang, executive vice-chairman of the foundation, said the moves are aimed at promoting pediatric development in China and step up the building of medical teams in this area. Enditem
