China steel futures open higher

　　SHANGHAI, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Steel futures opened higher Wednesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

　　The most active construction steel rebar contract for May delivery was up 12 yuan (about 1.74 U.S. dollars) to open at 3,558 yuan a tonne.

　　The most active May contract for hot rolled coils, mainly used in cars and appliances, was up 14 yuan to open at 3,588 yuan a tonne. Enditem
