SHANGHAI, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed higher Wednesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
The most active gold contract for June delivery was up 1.56 yuan (about 23 U.S. cents) to close at 347.54 yuan a gram.
The total trading volume for seven listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 177,342 lots, with a turnover of about 61.5 billion yuan.
