Tibet's capital reports rising GDP, better life in 2019

LHASA, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region Lhasa estimated its gross domestic product (GDP) rose nine percent and reported people's life in the city has been improved in 2019.

Lhasa's GDP was estimated at 61.6 billion yuan (8.9 billion U.S. dollars) last year, Ghog ghog, mayor of the city, said Tuesday.

The per capita disposable income for the capital's urban residents exceeded 40,000 yuan, while that for the rural residents grew to 16,260 yuan.

Last year, the capital built up or renovated 83 schools, creating nearly 7,300 new pre-school and compulsory education school places. Enditem
