Manzhouli port sees rising import cargo volume as Spring Festival approaches

HOHHOT, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Manzhouli, the largest land port on the China-Russia border, saw rising import cargo volume this month as the Spring Festival approaches.

According to authorities of the port in northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as of Monday, Manzhouli Port saw 152,700 tonnes of imported coal, a rise of 52,000 tonnes from the same period last year.

Manzhouli Port also saw increasing import of candies, biscuits, red wine, chicken, flour and other food from Russia.

So far, the port has seen 27 inbound China-Europe freight trains carrying a total of 2,382 standard containers in January. The import cargo mainly included plates and auto parts. Enditem
