BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- A sculpture by renowned Chinese sculptor Wu Weishan, also the director of the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC), has been unveiled in Vinci, Italy, according to the NAMOC.

The bronze sculpture, featuring Da Vinci having a dialogue with Chinese painter Qi Baishi, will be permanently exhibited in front of the Leonardo da Vinci Museum.

Qi Baishi (1864-1957) is a famous Chinese painter noted for watercolors featuring a huge variety of subjects.

The work combines the realistic tradition of the Renaissance with the freehand brushwork spirit from Eastern culture, said Wu.

The sculpture will enrich the culture of the city and further strengthen the mutual respect and friendship between China and Italy on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, said Giuseppe Torchia, the mayor of Vinci. Enditem
