BEIJING, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- The following are the key moves taken by policymakers in the past week to enhance China's economic strength and sustainability:

-- Reform of central SOEs

China's state asset regulator will continue to optimize the supervision system and jointly promote the reform of centrally-administered state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

Efforts will be made to streamline administration and delegate power to stimulate the vitality of enterprises, according to a meeting held by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council from Jan. 11 to 12.

-- Rolling out first national standard on senior care

China has rolled out its first set of mandatory national standards in the field of senior care to provide bottom-line requirements for service quality of the sector.

It outlines requirements for the qualification, assessment of safety risks and management of senior care organizations, said Tian Shihong, deputy head of the State Administration for Market Regulation, at a press briefing.

-- Strengthening fight against environmental pollution in 2020

China's top environmental watchdog has reiterated its ambition to fight environmental pollution in 2020, as positive results have been reaped through efforts to clean up the environment in the past year.

In air pollution control, the year 2020 will be the deadline to meet targets set by a three-year action plan issued by the State Council in 2018 to fight air pollution.

The total emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide will be cut by more than 15 percent by 2020 compared with 2015, according to the plan. Enditem
