China steel futures open lower

SHANGHAI, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Steel futures opened lower Tuesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active construction steel rebar contract for May delivery was down 17 yuan (about 2.48 U.S. dollars) to open at 3,585 yuan a tonne.

The most active May 2020 contract for hot rolled coils, mainly used in cars and appliances, was down 23 yuan to open at 3,616 yuan a tonne. Enditem
