GUIYANG, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Miroslav Raduljica scored a game-high 38 points to help his Jiangsu Dragons team to a 103-90 home win over the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Tuesday.

Raduljica hit 14 out of 25 attempts and got 18 rebounds, while his teammates Huang Rongqi and John Jenkins notched 18 and 17 points respectively. Donatas Motiejunas had a subdued game for Shanghai, striking just 16 points.

The first quarter was closely contested, with both sides attacking the paint to score points. Jiangsu played a little more offensively and finally built a three-point lead at the end.

Going into the second quarter, both teams played more aggressively and scored more points than in the first quarter. Shanghai looked to cancel out the deficit, but a Raduljica-inspired Jiangsu enlarged the lead with some accurate shooting, maintaining a double-digit points lead to the buzzer.

Shanghai sought to narrow the gap in the third quarter, but Jiangsu maintained the initiative with Raduljica regularly attacking the paint.

But things changed in the final quarter, with Shanghai cutting the deficit to six points as Raduljica was off court. That prompted Jiangsu to reintroduce the Serbian, who helped Jiangsu hold off the visitors and seal a hard-fought win.

"My players really wanted to win this game and I am proud of them," Jiangsu's head coach Memi Becirovic said after the game, adding that his players did well in defense on the court and will try to maintain this momentum in future. Enditem
