KUNMING, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Customs of Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, seized 25.25 kg of methamphetamine in a drug smuggling case on Dec. 28, 2019, customs authorities said Thursday.

Customs officers seized the 44 blocks of methamphetamine packed in black tape from a vehicle entering the Chinese border when it was being checked at the port of Daluo.

Further investigation into the case is underway.

Kunming Customs busted 45 drug smuggling cases in 2019, with 535.84 kg of drugs seized.

Yunnan is a major front in China's battle against drug crime, as it borders the Golden Triangle known for its rampant drug production and trafficking. Enditem
