BEIJING, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- China had set up more than 142 seawater desalination projects, with the daily output reaching more than 1.2 million tonnes of water by the end of 2018, according to a report released by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The report on seawater utilization in 2018 said China's largest desalination project, which adopts reverse osmosis and low-temperature multi-effect distillation technology, can produce 200,000 tonnes of water per day. China has also seen increasing application of seawater cooling systems.

China has further improved its standard system for seawater utilization, issuing two new national standards and 16 new industry standards, the report said. Enditem
