RIYADH -- Three Egyptian fishermen were killed by a mine explosion in the southern Red Sea near Yemen, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Friday.

The other three Egyptians on the fishing boat were rescued by the Saudi-led coalition involved in a war in Yemen, SPA said. (Yemen-Red Sea-Mine Explosion)

TEHRAN -- The commander of the Aerospace Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said Iran has the technology to neutralize the U.S. RQ-4 drone flying thousands of km away from its borders, Tehran Times daily reported Friday.

"We have gained access to the RQ-4 drone's secret codes ... We can make the drone inefficient from a distance of several thousands of kilometers," said Amir Ali Hajizadeh. (Iran-IRGC-US Drone)

DAMASCUS -- Turkey has brought in new military gear to Syria's northwestern province of Idlib on Friday, a war monitor reported.

BAGHDAD -- Iraq's top Shiite cleric Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani on Friday condemned the recent attacks against the anti-government protesters.

"The repeated calls by the religious authority for rejecting violence and adhering to peaceful demonstrations ... did not prevent the occurrence of unfortunate and painful incidents during the past days," the representative of al-Sistani said in a televised speech during the weekly Friday prayer in the holy Shiite city of Karbala, some 110 km south of the capital Baghdad.
