BEIRUT -- A snowstorm hitting Lebanon on Saturday has blocked roads in different regions of the country, a local media outlet reported.

AMMAN -- Calls have been mounting in Jordan for abolishing a 10-billion-U.S. dollar agreement to import gas from Israel, with majority of Jordanians voicing support for scrapping the deal.

State-run University of Jordan's Centre for Strategic Studies indicated that the majority of Jordanians support scrapping the gas deal with Israel, citing a report it announced this week showing that 66.5 percent of Jordanians want the deal to be scrapped, while 14 percent oppose scrapping and 19.5 percent say they have "no idea" about the agreement. TEHRAN -- Iranian Petroleum Ministry on Saturday awarded a deal worth 1.4 billion U.S. dollars to an Iranian energy enterprise to develop two oilfields located at southeast of the country, state TV reported.

The deal was signed between Iranian Petroleum Ministry and MAPNA Group which operates in the area of construction and development of thermal power plants under EPC scheme, independent power plants (IPP), oil and gas as well as rail traction projects. (Iran-Oil Fields Development)

BAGHDAD -- At least seven civilians were wounded in two bomb explosions on Saturday evening in eastern and northern Baghdad, an Interior Ministry official said.

One of the blasts took place when a roadside bomb went off near a popular cafe in Baghdad's eastern neighborhood of Baghdad al-Jadida, leaving four civilians wounded and caused damage to nearby buildings and cars, the official told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-Blasts) Enditem
