BEIJING, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

CORONAVIRUS STRAIN ISOLATION

A team of Shanghai researchers announced that they have successfully isolated and identified the strain of the novel coronavirus from a patient's sample.

This is the first strain of the novel coronavirus isolated in Shanghai. It will provide key resource for vaccine development, drug manufacturing and pathogenic mechanism study, according to researchers.

SUBWAY PASSENGER FLOW APP

An online function to detail the passenger flows of Beijing subway has been opened to the public on navigation service provider AutoNavi.

Citizens can open the updated app of the AutoNavi and check whether the subway is fully loaded at any station. The passenger flow degree is distinguished in the colors of red, yellow and green.

NON-CONTACT ID RECOGNITION, BODY TEMPERATURE SYSTEM

Chinese researchers have developed a comprehensive system in contactless body temperature screening and identification recognition, targeting to facilitate the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus.

The XH-TI identification recognition and body temperature warning system can conduct a simultaneous ID card information confirmation, contactless face recognition and body temperature screening, according to China National Nuclear Corporation.

IRRADIATION STERILIZATION

Chinese companies have improved the sterilization method to speed up the production of medical protective clothing for the country's fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak.

A subsidiary company of the China National Nuclear Corporation has started to adopt the irradiation sterilization, a key step to increasing the production efficiency for protective clothing. Enditem
