BEIJING, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's energy supply and demand was generally stable as more factories and mines returned to business amid the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, the National Energy Administration said Friday.

As of Thursday, 996 mines across the country resumed production, up 138 percent from Feb. 1.

Coal stockpiles at the country's power plants were sufficient for 24 days of consumption as of Thursday, while those in Hubei, the hardest-hit province, were sufficient for the consumption of 41 days.

Hit by the epidemic, oil and gas consumption in Hubei fell year on year during the first 10 days of February, the administration said, adding that there was an easing of the fuel supply and demand situation in the province. Enditem
