DAMASCUS -- The Turkish forces shot down a Syrian military helicopter in the countryside of Aleppo province in northern Syria on Friday, killing two pilots, a war monitor reported.

The helicopter was downed by a missile northwest of Aleppo, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Turkey-Syria)

DAMASCUS -- The strategic highway linking Syrian capital Damascus in the south with Aleppo province in the north has become fully secure, state news agency SANA reported on Friday.

The highway has become secure after the Syrian army recaptured all areas surrounding the road, said SANA. (Syria-Highway-Recapture)

ISTANBUL -- Turkish airline Atlasglobal officially filed for bankruptcy, Turkey's Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced on Twitter on Friday.

The airline has taken the bankruptcy decision as it couldn't continue its operation, the post said, noting that all of its flights were stopped. (Turkey-Finance)

CAIRO -- The final agreement on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) will be concluded by the end of February, Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

"The final deal will be submitted by the U.S. side in cooperation with the World Bank to Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan within the coming few days in order to finalize and sign the agreement before the end of February," the statement said. (Egypt-Dam) Enditem
