BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

TEST CHIP APPROVED

A newly developed nucleic acid test chip that can detect and distinguish six respiratory viruses, including the novel coronavirus, has been approved by China's National Medical Products Administration.

With secretion samples collected from patients' noses and throats, the virus chip can detect six common respiratory viruses including the novel coronavirus all at once within 1.5 hours. Each chip allows the detection of 16 samples in a single assay at the same time.

ARJ21 TEST FLIGHT

The ARJ21, China's first turbo-fan regional passenger jetliner, has gained further progress with two more airplanes beginning test flight this year.

The test flight showed that the civil airplane model is on track of smooth development and delivery with more airplanes in the fields of intensive tests and commercial operation, said the developer, the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China.

SATELLITE ASSISTANCE

China's BeiDou navigation satellites are helping the country fight the novel coronavirus epidemic with high precision from space.

When China was building the two makeshift hospitals -- Huoshenshan (Fire God Mountain) and Leishenshan (Thunder God Mountain) in Wuhan, the epicenter of the epidemic, equipment based on the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System provided high precision positioning service and accelerated the construction.
