BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- China has transported a total of 84,000 workers by special trains to resume work and production amid the COVID-19 outbreak since the first such train began operation on Feb. 16, according to the Ministry of Public Security.

Railway police around the country have worked to ensure safe and smooth operations, involving 81 special trains, the ministry said.

The ministry has also issued a document requiring strengthened monitoring of passenger flow as well as measures to keep certain distances between passengers and prevent the gathering of crowds.

Railway police at the main destinations of the special trains, including Beijing, Shanghai and the coastal provinces of Guangdong and Zhejiang, have stepped up efforts to prevent epidemic inflow by checking arrivals' body temperatures and health conditions. Enditem
