CAIRO, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Saturday that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Egypt hit 109.

Speaking to reporters in Cairo, Madbouly said that the spread of the virus in Egypt is very limited compared to other countries.

Earlier in the day, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi decided to suspend school and university classes across the country for two weeks due to concerns about the spread of the novel coronavirus.

During his meeting with Madbouly, Sisi also allocated 100 billion Egyptian pounds (about 6.36 billion U.S. dollars) to finance the comprehensive plan and precautionary measures against the coronavirus.

According to Egypt's Health Ministry, two cases, a German tourist and an Egyptian lady, passed away since the outbreak of the virus in the country. Enditem
