CHENGDU, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Archaeologists discovered two ancient tombs in the southwestern Chinese city of Deyang, according to the municipal cultural relics and archaeology research institute.

The tombs, dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), were found on March 13 at a construction site in Deyang, said Liu Zhangze, head of the research institute.

The two tombs are about two meters apart, and the tomb chambers and walls are all made of stones. A grain jar and a porcelain bowl were unearthed in one of the tombs.

Archaeologists said the discovery provided new materials for the study of the tomb shapes and burial customs in the Ming dynasty. Enditem
