Shanghai reports 18 new imported COVID-19 cases

SHANGHAI, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai reported 18 new confirmed COVID-19 cases arriving from abroad on Wednesday, bringing the city's tally of imported cases to 112, the local health commission said Thursday.

The patients have been sent to designated hospitals for treatment, while 73 people in close contact with the patients on flights have been put under concentrated medical observation.

Twenty suspected imported cases are being screened, the commission said.

On Wednesday, Shanghai saw no increase in locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed cases.

By Thursday, a total of 330 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery in Shanghai, and 116 patients, including 109 in imported cases, are still being hospitalized in Shanghai. Enditem
