Qatar suspends all unnecessary trade activities amid coronavirus outbreak

DOHA, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Qatar's crisis management commission said all unnecessary trade activities will be suspended starting Friday as part of the measures to combat the novel coronavirus outbreak, the official Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

The commission also announced the closure of all cafes, education institutions, recreation facilities and wedding services, the QNA said.

All money exchange offices and banks were also shut down, the Government Communications Office of Qatar announced.

Qatar reported 12 new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to 549, of whom 43 have recovered, according to the health ministry. Enditem
