BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese authorities stressed the importance of well arranging the allocation and use of funds voluntarily donated by members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for combating the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The donations will be mainly used for extending regards to medics, primary-level officials, police, community workers, volunteers and journalists who have worked at the front line against COVID-19, according to a recent circular jointly issued by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

The once hard-hit epicenter Hubei Province will be prioritized in the allocation, the circular said.

Local authorities should make clear the number of the people to be subsidized, draw up plans of differentiated standards, and hand out the money in a timely manner, read the document.

A total of 5.28 billion yuan (about 750 million U.S. dollars) donated by CPC members earlier has been transferred by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee to the MOF for further allocation. Enditem
